Regina Christen
Director of SiWiC, Regina Christen, was born 1946 in Zürich (Switzerland). After acquiring a diploma in business administration she worked in advertising, then as a flight attendant and for Swiss Television for several years. Then she majored in ethnology, psychology and journalism, at the University of Zürich. While studying she wrote dance reviews for one of the big newspapers in Zürich. Although having gone to classical ballet lessons as a child she soon was more interested in modern and ethnic dances. The transition from traditional to modern ethnic dance also was the subject of her master's degree. From 1986 - 1994 she worked as free lance public relations adviser as well as a journalist for several newspapers, magazines and radio stations. In 1994 she joined the Cultural Department of the City of Zurich where she currently is in charge of the dance promotion. For her the educational aspect of dance is one of the main issues. With this in mind she founded the Swiss international Coaching Project for Choreographers in 1996 together with ballet director Richard Wherlock.
