About
SiWiC is a coaching project for choreographers and a unique platform for both choreographers and dancers. The purpose of SiWiC is to promote professional, national and international dance providing advanced intensive training for talented choreographers. Once a year, six qualified young choreographers will be given the opportunity to explore their own style and to experiment with various aspects of choreography while being personally coached for two and a half weeks by a internationally renowned choreographer. They will work with an ensemble of 22 professional dancers.
Specific tasks will be introduced daily, followed by the work of the choreographers with a group of dancers in separate studios. At the end of the days, the results will be presented in a showing and discussed in plenum. At the end of SiWiC, this showing will be open to the audience (informal works).
Accompanying seminars, individual support, exchange of ideas with other young choreographers, networking and comprehensive assistance with two public performances will influence the personal and artistic development of the participating choreographers long term.
A professional jury will select the choreographers.
Audition will be held for dancers.
